About the race

Event proceeds to benefit Idyllwild School’s K-8 Physical Education Program

With more than 35 years of presenting this race, the Idyllwild Race Committee (501c3) has donated a total of more than $70,000 to the Idyllwild School athletic and physical education program, enabling the school to purchase a scoreboard, indoor climbing wall, PE equipment, team uniforms, coaching fees, and a portable sound system. The school has even been able to equip an entire fitness lab for students funded entirely from the proceeds of the race.

Starting Times

Saturday, June 3, 2023:

5K Race begins at 7:30 am
10K Race begins at 8:15 am
1/2 mile Kids’ Run (7 and under) begins at 10.00 am

Registration and Packet Pickup

Register or pick up your race packet including t-shirt and bib number at the Totem Pole Monument in the Idyllwild Town Center.

Friday evening, June 2, from 5 pm to 6:30 pm
Saturday, June 3 (race morning) from 6:30 am
Registration for the $10 kids race will be at the start line of the kids race (outside Town Hall), beginning at 9:30 AM, cash only.

Entry Fees

Late registration pricing effective after May 7. (Add $10 to the prices listed below.)

5K Registration is $40
10K Registration is $50
Price to do both Races (5K & 10K) is $60
Half-Mile Kids’ Fun Run $10

Course Info

Both courses begin at the town center and follow scenic routes through some of Idyllwild’s prettiest streets, including an especially picturesque passage through the county campground. See course routes and elevation profiles.

Awards and Prizes

The top male and female finishers overall in the 5K & 10K runs will receive special awards and custom medallions, as will the top male and female competitors in the fitness walk.

Awards will be given to the top 3 Male & top 3 Female runners in each age group for the runs, and for the top 5 overall M & F in the 5K walk.

All kids in the half-mile fun run will receive an award at the finish line.

PTA Fundraiser Breakfast

Also available on race day: Our fundraiser breakfast, presented by and supporting the Idyllwild PTA.

Time: from 8 AM to 10:30 AM.
Where: Outside Town Hall
Cost: $10 for adults and $5 for children under age 12.
Proceeds benefit the Idyllwild School PTA program.

Breakfast tickets may be purchased day-of-race or at the packet pick-up and registration Friday night before the race.
